The first children`s railway in Bulgaria was constructed in 1962 in town of Kardzhali. It is located in the city Park "Prostor" and has a length of 1210 m. After lots of years when the it was a symbol of the town, gradually, in the years after the end of the socialism, the facility has neglected and abandoned. After several years of interruption, in 2006, the children`s train and the railway were repaired and renovated and nowadays it is again an attraction for the kids and their parents.
